There are moments in my mind which speak of self-protection
self-preservation
They tell me this and that
and sometimes that “this” is not “that”
Sometimes that “this” is a problem
and “that” should be worried about
Sometimes that “this” is too much
and “that” will overwhelm you
until you crumble
and remember that nothing ever works
They pretend not to be fear
Still, other moments in my mind tell me to love freely and abandon fear
